In this book, Krondor: the Assassins, the latest from Raymond E Feist, and book two of the "Riftwar Legacy", we take a trip into the past, and meet our old friend Squire James, formerly Jimmy the Hand of the Mockers Guild.
Jimmys old family, the Mockers, are being killed off in Krondor, for no apparent reason. Jimmy and Lieutenant William conDoin, the son of Pug, the greatest magician know to the Kingdom, set out to investigate. They discover that the Assassins Guild, the Nighthawks, have returned.
Followers of the Feist phenomenon, should enjoy this trip into the past, to meet old friends, and discover more about their past lives, which has only been hinted at in the later books of the Serpent War Saga.
A much lighter read than Magician, but still full of action, and thoroughly enjoyable. A must read for all Feist fans.

Book two in the Riftwar Legacy series starts where the first left off; at the battleground at Sethanon. Theres no rest for the-not-so-wicked either, so our friends return to Krondor with a profound lack of sleep and a lot to do. For squire James, this situation continues throughout the story.
Focal characters are James and William conDoin, son of Pug, adopted cousin of the royal family, and newly commissioned knight-lieutenant. Our friends divert their scarce time between long-term tasks for the good of Krondor, and urgent matters concerning the unrest in Krondor; murders, the Crawler, the Nighthawks...
A book of fast action more than psychology and intrigue, and yet another enjoyable part of The Riftwar Legacy story.
